As you can imagine, the past day has been super busy for us, but we’re excited to announce that we’ve acquired Cobra Golf, an equipment brand, to strengthen and expand our up-and-coming and flourishing golf brand.

PUMA athlete Johan Edfors fired scores of 69-69-69-71 for a total of 10-under to finish T7 at the Maybank Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.

And as usual, he played with style, sporting some new kicks — “The Club.” Yep, we know, they look like sneakers, but they’re golf shoes with spikes! Check them out here.

Rickie Fowler played in style on his way to a second place finish at the Waste Management Open. The 21-year-old fell just one shot short of a playoff against fellow Oklahoma State Cowboy Hunter Mahan.

In only nine starts on the PGA Tour, he’s been in a playoff and had a putt to go into a playoff — not too shabby. He has two top-5 finishes in his past four tournaments. Expect that first W to come in just a matter of time. He’s definitely proved he’s the real deal.

Rickie jumps to 13th place in the FedEx Cup standings and 14th on the official money list.

Rickie Fowler’s outfit was a fan favorite to make entertaining comments about at the Phoenix Open on Saturday. But Rickie didn’t let them bother him (can’t take what a bunch of drunks too seriously, anyway!). He fired a two-under 69 and T3 going into the final round.

“I feel good about the game, and when the wind picked up I felt comfortable,” he said. “I like playing in the wind. Right where we want to be going into tomorrow.”

Guess what Rickie is wearing tomorrow? Yep, his signature orange pants for Oklahoma.

Curious what cool looks Rickie Fowler is sporting this week at the Waste Management Open in Scottsdale? On Thursday, he wore the blue and white get-up on his way to firing a bogey-free six-under 65, three shots off the lead.

After the fine performance, Rickie explained his perfectly-coordinated outfits:

“Yeah, Puma is a great fit for me. I’m definitely a little bit different on the golf course than most of the traditional golfers. I like to stick out and do my own thing. I play golf a little different than most, and I thought it was a perfect fit for me.”

At last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, PUMA athlete Rickie Fowler drew lots of attention with his colorful outfit choices. Rickie was paired with another rising star, Japanese teen Ryo Ishikawa, who is also known to make bold fashion statements.

When Rickie’s celebrity playing partner, actor Chris O’Donnell, was asked his opinion on the two young pros attire, he quipped, “You mean the skittles outfits?”

Scott Ostler from The San Francisco Chronicle got Rickie’s take:

“I figured Ryo likes to dress up a bit, and so do I,” Fowler said. “For the first day, I figured I might as well come out of the gate hot. As soon as I saw him in all-green on the putting green, I knew it would be a bit of fun.”

“We’re pushing to make our presence known out here,” Fowler said, “and I think we’re doing pretty good so far.”

Indeed they did, as galleries flocked to watch the brilliant pair of young guns. Way to represent PUMA, Rickie!

Rickie Fowler is playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week. His celebrity partner is actor Chris O’Donnell. Rickie is drawing all sorts of attention for his colorful outfits from his older peers, but taking the jabs like a pro. Golf Magazine’s Cameron Morfit shared this anecdote:

The kid from Southern California has held up well so far this week.

At a party at the Lodge at Pebble Beach on Wednesday night to kick off the 2010 golf season on CBS Sports, Fowler sat in a director’s chair next to Dustin Johnson and took some ribbing from Nick Faldo about his haircut and his clothing. The two young stars were seated in between straight man Jim Nantz and jester Faldo, who playfully laid into Fowler for his pastel outfits and Dutch-boy ‘do. Fowler took it all with a smile, and laughed along with the rest of the party-goers when Nantz referenced Faldo’s light beard.

Rickie fired a 3-under 67 at Monterey Peninsula on Thursday. In the team competition, he and O’Donnell finished with a 9-under, 61, good enough for T12. The pair take on Pebble Beach today. We can’t wait to see the outfit Rickie put together.
